About the position:
general direction from the Behavioral Health Director, the Assistant
Director performs a variety of professional management activities as
well as clinical counseling duties. In areas of clinical work, the
Assistant Director is responsible for policy and procedure development
that promotes a trauma informed approach to care management. This
includes supervision and training across the entire clinical team on
issues related to the treatment of trauma. The Assistant Director also
participates as the direct supervisor of peer support staff. The
position will be directing daily clinical operations of the peer support
team and works closely with the Behavioral Health Director and the
clinical team to ensure smooth operations throughout the program and
identifies and corrects problems as they present themselves. This
position also provides mental health and substance use disorder
counseling and treatment interventions, including individual and group
psychotherapy, and carries an individual client caseload. This position
is highly independent and must demonstrate significant discretion to act
within policy but be able to make decisions that go beyond standard
- Master's Degree in Behavioral Sciences
- Specific alcoholism/drug counseling training with internship period.
- 2 years of Chemical Dependency Treatment experience. OR
- 2 years of Specialty Mental Health Practice experience.
- State of Alaska Licensed Professional Counselor. OR
- State of Alaska Licensed Psychologist. OR
- State of Alaska Licensed Clinical Social Worker.

retirement, paid time off and many more! Starting pay is $41.156/hr. -
$48.995/hr. depending on experience.
